Sold as seen, you never heard it run and nor did the fella before you. I'm sure you let the fella that bought it off you know this ?
100% right Agree with all comments above -- he's taken a chance in a private sale - its run fine for 100 miles or so - who's to say he didnt fit it right or even drove the togs off it anyway? You don't owe him an iota in my opinion. I certainly wouldnt be expecting any form of refund - if i bought something and was told that it was never heard run, or that there was no known history, i'd accept at that point i was taking a massive chance. I mean he's sort of shot himslef in the foot anyhow telling you he has put miles on it - usually when they say i've only done 100 miles or so, i gaurantee you its more like 500 or god knows what.as said, if you stated you never heard it run, he accepted/knew this, he still purchased, no longer your concern, you took a chance buying it, then the new buyer took a chance knowing the consequences it may not run
Leebo about that engine... lolIf he was a friend and he whinged about a non-guarnatee'd engine lasting a period of time then giving up, then I'd see it as no big loss falling out with him anyway lol. Suck it up.
Leebo about that engine... lol
Yeah noisy top end which i assumed to be a tappet having sat so long. Stripped it to find one ****ed rocker arm. Swapped cam, rockers, tappets from the old engine and its right as rain. Just a leaky box to fix and should be all goodLol did you get it fitted yet?
Quick update. I offered the fella a quater of his money back as a good will gesture but he refused so im now taking the "f##k off" approach. Nothing more I can do I believe.
