Just saw your profile (B6)....what i found was if you have a key that is broken, you can get a new key cut and use the original transponder in a new casing.

I did this and it saved me a fortune.

I didnt get a spare with the car so need a full new key :-(

I had deadly bother getting the keycodes from them at one stage. But you can buy a new complete keyfob from ebay and just have it coded. £20 - £30 will cover the coding but they can be difficult to get the correct transponder code.
