An update at long last.

Things are progressing, so much so the car is pretty much ready to rock and roll and ive started tidying up wiring and actually cleaning things.

First of all I was on a mission to sort out issues with the engine not running/revving correctly and running extremely rich, out with the carb cleaner and I discovered a massive leak in the inlet gasket, removed the inlet mani (which is a ******* in the tight engine bay) and replaced the gasket. Problem solved.

When I had it stripped down I removed the turbo and once again made a new turbo oil drain, decided to tig this one up for a bit of a better finish.

Had the annual garage clear out...

Done some work in between to my IS200 which is for sale/swap for a diesel if anyone is interested?

Then some parts started arriving to get the final stages of the S15 complete, the boxes contain its brand new front lip, An6 piping and aeroquip fittings to make the power steering line (Turns out the PAS line at the moment is a piece of ****), new clamps for the FMIC piping and an AEM Uego Wideband.

Installed the wideband and decided to re-wrap my downpipe after I welded in the new bung, A full roll of exhaust wrap on this.

Cut some exhaust gaskets down to make some funky Vband gaskets.

Had a hold back with a adapter for the steering rack.

Currently waiting on my Blitz electronic boost controller, a new adapter and a couple of minor things to come before I can actually drive the thing, should hopefully have them all this week!

Thanks for the comments guys.

Another update!

I had to get a new power steering like as one I made up was **** and left a nice mess on my garage floor, so after a quick hunt I found a local farm hydraulic suppliers who knocked me up a fantastic line for minimal moneys. Excuse how terrible the photo is of this!

A boost gauge at long last, sort of running out of places to put gauges at this point!
10636135_10154597901925374_6257514015635761639_n.jpg

Got a little creative with a couple of lips from another car and made myself a much sleeker subtle lip for the bumper, need to flush the middle section out but this can be done when the lip is being painted!
10341744_10154597901510374_5757025673886831591_n.jpg

And last but not least this happened, which has put an ear to ear grin on my face for the past two days.

A quick burnout, stopped as there was smoke coming from the engine bay which turned out to be my heatwrap bedding in!

Up and down the road in first gear only, metal to metal noise made me stop, turns out my 2 way needs to have a little more backlash!

Both videos are the car running with the boost controller turned down as far as possible - its an animal even still!

Next up is tearing out the diff and re-doing the side shims, finding some handbrake anchors, giving it a once over.

Facebook seems to be being a **** and it seems most of my photos have disappeared.

Anyway a bit of an update, I made some changes to the car, I wasn't settled on the stock front bumper and always wanted an Aero front which as a few people will know are like hens teeth and a pretty pretty penny, when this came up cheap I couldn't resist (Needs a good tidy up).

FINALLY sorted out my ****ty idle issue which came down to a faulty alternator which tested good at an alternator place.

After trying a couple of electric fan setups I wasn't content with the ****ty cooling they provide, JZ's run serious hot especially when drifting - So I done some rough measuring and got to work with a grinder, since the photos were taken it has been tidy'd up a little with some nice proper fresh brackets and a rubber seal to stop it rubbing through the metal.

Then I had a slight brain wave, I am off work for a week so why not get some progress on the car? With the help of a few mates (mainly @John_MK5 ) we set about trying to get it MOT'd. So on Monday evening we loaded the car up on the trailer and set off for Johns, we had a list the size of your arm when we went at it and very little time to do it.

It got the following:
- New washer jets
- A horn
- Battery box
- Gearstick surround
- Headlights set
- Airbag light turned off
- Viscous fan modification
- Suspension set
- Under sealed
- Fog light
- OEM Seats installed
- Wiper blades
- Drained some oil out (It had way too much oil in it :/)
- New rear anchor bolts fitted
- Handbrake cables secured
- Exhaust modified slightly to clear steering rack correctly
- Bodywork built up correctly
- Cleaned
Plus a few other niggly things.

After we borrowed and stole of various cars belonging to my mates we managed to get it into some orderly fashion.

Went up for the test tonight and passed with flying colours, MOT inspector complimented it and how tidy the engine conversion etc was.
10891700_10155058689450374_1311050807097993145_n.jpg

Next up is to strip the diff out of it as the there is a bearing gone which is nasty and noisy and possibly get a look in the box as the release bearing seems to be funky.

After getting a good 40/50 miles gathered up in the car over the past week its made me really fall in love with it, it currently handles like a dog but it goes like **** of a shovel and does good burnouts.

Will try and get a few videos up over the next few days.

She lives! Grand job (y) Aero front bumper is lush. It's going to be the nicest S15 around, when it's finished.

Still think it needs a rear spoiler :innocent:

Playing football, then watching football. From what I hear, it was a big one for a Monday night. So maybe grateful that I wasn't about.

So, on the road at the end of the month?

Yea should be road legal by then, however it will need the diff rebuilt before then as the pinion is whining like a ****.

A big one? I never felt right until Friday. lol

So the car passed the MOT with flying colours, I got it registered and had some fun in it unpainted. Took a head stagger a few days ago and decided it needed painted, after a SERIOUS amount of sanding and fine tuning we were ready to paint, This was my first time painting a full car, in a rough and ready garage using a 25litre compressor it turned out better than I expected.

So here we go:

Just the over fenders to build up correctly now :grinning:

Looks great Dylan ... love the colour against the Volks!

Ive been following a build on the Lexus forum where some guy has shoe horned a JZ engine into his 06 GS300 ... so tempting for that noise!
