Nah, just make sure you do your homework and dont buy the first one you see. Plenty of rottens ones kicking about in NI. A full BMWSH helps rule out most of the rough ones.

I have driven mine for 4 years now I got it free to take the wee man home from hospital but it just keeps going. Granted I have blacked out all warning bulbs but nothing has fallen off yet and it just past mot. 4 years and:

Windscreen fixed on insurance excess =£50
2x window regulators =£50
2x abs sensors = £25
Cat removed=free
Springs £100
Tins of paint to tidy it £30
Changed the oil twice plugs once and filters once. £100 odd

300 odd quid plus petrol and tyres total for 4 years daily abuse of a 170,000 mile 17 year old car. They get my thumbs up every time.

I've got a front caliper for my 330d

Needs tailgate wiring sorted as it constantly thinks it's open
Needs an engine mount
Needs the air con pulley replaced
Rear arches are bubbly
Oil or diesel leak but only a very mild one that I'm not overly worried about for now
Love driver door card
Passenger from window goes down but needs pulled up

Goes like the clappers with heaps of torque so it does the important things well (y) oh and it's ridiculously economic :grinning:

There were about 4 wires broken and another 5 or 6 on the verge of breaking in the flexi at the boot hinge.
So any that looked suspect were cut, soldered and heatshrink wrapped.
It has left the flexi a little stiff but should be ok.

Anyone ever had to take the needles off the instrument cluster?
I had to take mine off in order to resolder an LED for the airbag light back onto the board (previous owner had prised it off  )
RPM & temp gauge are fine.
MPG & Fuel level I cant really tell
Speedo is under reading as well.

Is there a foolproof way of resetting/ calibrating them?

Have you had a look on youtube? There's a simple way of doing it on the e36.

Where would I get a replacement 6pin harness for the rear lights? One of my pins in the holder and harness is fried :worried:
