I would be careful posting a video like the second one in public, cough :-#

That said, it looks like fun :grinning:

I figured it would be ok as I'm only on it for a few seconds at a time and its only second gear then change into third and let off so I'm not actually going that fast, but if you think it might still be a bit dodgy then I may take it down.

I'm looking forward to getting the setup finished and then perhaps getting it on track, because its so fast that you can't really enjoy it on the road as much as one would like.

Reno those images are fantastic... You're an artist...

HELL of a car!!
Thanks,

I can't wait to see the rest of the set that Reinis took.

Thanks to Alan @ AG Automotive, Sean @ SMD Motorsports, Greg @ Protuner and Jonathan @ AI Autosport for their help.

That's the project mainly complete however theres still plenty to adjust/tweek/setup/improve and still some parts I'd like to fit. I'll just work at it steady from now on and enjoy driving it as often as possible.

If I could hit that "Like" button a hundred times I would!!! lol I think that's possibly one of the nicest motors I've seen on here and one hell of a spec list (y) Fair play to you @EF Ian , seems to be finished to a very high standard too. Seriously cool car

Thanks to all for the nice comments. Pleased that people have been enjoying following my build, I've enjoyed building it, still more to come with the development of this so the project will continue at steady speed.

I am happy you liked them my friend!
They are great thanks, will be cool if we can get some more rolling shots and a few more overall engine bay shots would be good.

Cheers

I always aimed to finish it to the highest standard I could afford, ended up spending a lot more than I thought I would originally, but it was all worth it.

This is the stuff of dreams! Fair play.
Thanks, it is actually the stuff of dreams, my dreams. So happy to have my dream car already.

Easily the best project I've seen on a car forum in a long time.
Pics are cracking as well. Fair play, this thing is proper awesome!
Cheers, that's quite a compliment. Hopefully It might have inspired a few others to start similar builds.

I've been at work for the past while so this hasn't been out, however it will be out again on Sunday, I can't wait to drive it again.

There will be some updates and improvements over the next month. Nothing major, just tweaking and improving what I have mainly and sorting out some minor issues.

First thing to do is get it through the MOT, all I believe I need to do before is check the headlight alignment.

Nice to be out in these two again. Datsun passed the MOT with zero issues on Wednesday morning, been loving it since then, not sure how it must look to other people but I've pretty much got a permanent grin on my face when driving this thing, thats when I'm not laughing at how silly quick it is (0 to 100MPH in <<8 seconds never gets boring)

DSCF9400.jpg

Engine lifting brackets, R200 diff gasket, some new bolts for the cam gear cover, new diff fill bolt and a replacement bush kit for my spare set of door hinges which are off getting refurbed to be fitted asap (current ones work fine but are rusty)

Red enamel for the red on the 260Z badges, 3M body tape for the headlight covers as all other tapes come loose after a while. The temp strips are going to be stuck to the oil sump and the diff case to see if they get too hot, they will let me know the max temps they reach.

DSCF9396.jpg

I wasn't happy with the engine plaque with the stamping so I had a fullly custom one laser etched:

DSCF9394.jpg

Looks much better:

DSCF9407.jpg

New mascot - Turbo Timmy:

DSCF9389.jpg

DSCF9401.jpg

Got my plastic tail light chrome trim surrounds re-chromed, they aren't perfect but much better than what was there, I've got 2 spare sets now so I'll send the best away to a different company and hope I get a better job.

DSCF9420.jpg

I was hating my rusty rear bumper bolts, so I've changed them to titanium ones, 12g vs 32g, only saved 80 grams overall, but hey, I guess every little helps, if I changed every bolt on the car to titanium I'm sure it would save a couple of kg, but I'm not a millionaire so that won't be happening.

DSCF9423.jpg

At least they look much nicer:

DSCF9426.jpg

Going to change my brake pads to Pagid RS29's as reccommended by @AIRFORCE1 and a few others, hopefully they make less dust than the Hawks HP+ are because the hawk pads have destroyed my front wheels.

DSCF9428.jpg

Tried my new external mic for my gopro, was too close to the exhaust in this video, need to try it further away and that should stop the distortion.

More updates to come. Getting ready to head to Mondello Park on Saturday for Japfest and the IDC Finals. Car will be on display on Sunday if anyone wants a look/talk.
