So "new" psni cars are not up to the job. Namely the Vauxhall Vectra which hasn't been in production since 2008 so how the hell can they be new ?

Also "completely unsuitable for policing in west Belfast, Londonderry or south Armagh" because the cops can't get in or out of them with body armour on.

Do they send fatter cops to these areas or something ?

Would a cop responding to trouble in east belfast with body armour on have no trouble getting out of a vectra ?

It's the BBC they never get their facts correct. The PSNI have just taken delivery of 1.2 Vauxhall Adam's

was it the darkish blue one that seems to be based in maydown or another colour?

Ridiculous seeing the plod driving about in bloody A4 avants and Golf Rs, surely there's be something out there that would be more financially viable since its all of us that are paying for all this perceivably reliable German metal at the end of the day? The procurement division must base their purchases on the latest reviews on Pistonheads.

They mean the Insignia not the Vectra, the additional armour added to them makes the door opening tiny plus the inflexibility of the body armour means it's hard to get into and out of. Was talking to a police mechanic recently who expressed the same concerns and he doesn't wear the body armour when getting into and out of them. Said they cost something like £120k each too!

They pay about £46 for the cars though. I remember hearing how much the Range Rover was- Focus money from memory!
