High pressure pump is breaking down and filling the injector returns with brass filings.

Less than 5 mins pulls an injector out of them, so pull number 4 and send it to be tested (y)

Aye is number 4 the fault going by the computer?
Is the injector pump on its way out or is the injector only at fault?

I've done about 20 of those bastids and every single 1 has been pump failure. That's were the brass filings come from.

Fitted a new fuel filter, was going to clean the EGR but the diagnostic can't lie
Thinking of removed injector 2 an 4 an get them reconditioned

An occasional dose of cheap 2T oil in the diesel helps keep your pump in good nick.

Anything
What happened?

Can't remember exactly what it broke but it used to cut out (completely shut down) after a certain amount of revs!

Manys a key flick to restart it when I forgot myself and put the boot down.

Yes anything mechanical I'm useless....

If they break I pay someone to fix them

Had the same kinda problem last year on a 2.2TDCi

Got leak-off tests on the injectors carried out, replaced fuel filter, all kinds of diagnostics

In the end everything was pointing towards the injector pump, so I just sent the car on down the road

Sometimes just better to walk away:worried:

Aye I've moved the car to my dads and unsure what to do
Either buy 4 good injectors and have them coded
Check if faults gone or
Cut my lose an sell to traynors

Aye must get a lend of a kit an do a test
Then I'll know if it's one or the other
