I was chatting to a fella Stanley Ballantine the other day, and he recommended I go along to this....it's on 11 October.

Anyone ever been, or entered? Seems like a cheap way of getting into a bit of basic rallying.

Must get a run up to some of these events. Remember years ago going to see their Nova series in Craigavon. Looks like things have moved on a bit since then.

My mate has offered me a good Mk2 Escort with a pinto engine, close ratio box, cage etc for very humble money. Just weighing up my options to be honest.

I wouldn't have the money for outright rallying.....so this Alltrack arrive and drive would suit me perfectly, because I wouldn't have the time or money to dedicate to regular events.

altrak events are great value for money, personally i think they are well run but slightly over subscribed. big entrys. they have gotten very popular over the last few years. the two events run at moneyglass this year were superb. aghadowey is quite rough, the tarmac is nothing like kirkiston or bishopscourt..

I meant to say that the incar video was of me @ Alltrak in the summer, thats why i was directing u there :grinning:

How does this work? Is it a bit like a track day/hill climb, but in the forest?

no its basically like a single stage venue rally.

The course is set up basically using an old airfield and the sideroads that are around it.

So u have a mixture of broken cement, gravel in places and tarmac. You have two laps to do in the form of a stage where you split off on the second time around on your way to the finish which is in a Tarmac Oval. They do different variations on it.

The event is not FIA/MSA approved and is run by a private company. This means you do not have to have a competition license which makes it again cost effective.

Entry is roughly 60 pounds or 50 if your already registered for the championship.

The events take place at Aghadowey which i have talked about above and at a newer venue at Moneyglass. Always a good array of cars at the events from WRC cars (sometimes) to 1.2 Nova's driven by 13 year olds.

Its a really good days craic and very affordable when you consider that a similar type MSA event in Fermanagh costs 3 times that of Aghadowey abliet its on a better surface.
