I found an old Bilt Hamber clay bar in its box hiding on the back of a shelf. I think it could be 10yrs old.

I’d only used part of it back then but most of it’s unused although it’s quite hard (ooeeer)

Is it still usable? Thinking I could just soften it up with some boiling water.

Following this... as I've 2 Bilt Hamber blocks that are set like concrete!
Looks like this is the answer.....

The recommended method to keep the Auto-Clay workable, is to let the clay soften in a bowl of warm water. A clay bar is designed to be divided into four pieces and used one quarter at a time. It is suggested that you take two portions of your clay bar, allow one piece to warm in the bowl of water while you use the other. Swap as necessary when the piece in use becomes too firm to be workable.

Yeah hot water and use plenty of lubricant when using the bar

I would personally dose the car in a tar/glue remover or fall out prior to soften stubborn tar deposits
