Does anyone know anyone that is able to refinish / Re-lacquer carbon fibre or if it's a DIY-able job?

The Remus exhaust tips keep delaminating (I believe it's heat causing it) and this is my third set in about the space of 2 years. Would be tempted to just change them to chrome and be done with it.

Any body shop should be able to relacquer… try Ryan White in antrim as he would specialise in smaller jobs like this and could add it onto any other jobs when he’s lacquering

I re-lacquered these mirror caps as a DIY, and had never done it before. The lacquer was peeling and chipped.

Sanded back to raw carbon fibre, a few layers of ProXL 2k clear lacquer, wet sanded back finishing with 3000 grit and buffed with 3M cutting compound and then 3M blue finishing compound.

Probably 1.5hrs work in it over all the stages.

Cost wise I had everything bar the lacquer sitting so was worth me doing it

Cheers men, what grit would you sand them back to? 400 / 500?

Perfect advice, I was even going to recommend the same 2k 🤣
