For real? its a bit of metal formed by a guy that is paid to do his job, albeit well.

LOL, as rocko has said, some little dimpled ball being smacked about on grass, falling into a hole in one shot.

yeah man that welding is perfect, suppose for me i know it's a case of i know how hard it is to weld, maybe some it comes natural to, but to have a join like that is just awesome, but to keep it going continous, is just immense.

It would be like Rory Mc Ilroy, hitting a hole in one on a par 4 in the masters tournament.

It's just the quality of the workman ship. Same as there are just some cars that make you wet, looking at how sleek and elegant the lines are.

Iv have a guy in work here in the fab shop who can produce TIG welding as good, if not better than whats shown above, some of the stuff I get him to do is absolutely perfect.

I'm guessing you've done a spot before, and probably looks like mine, lol.

I love chipping the slag off it, but never seen it look like any of the above, lol.

Aye, pigeon sh** usually

Getting better but no way I'd ever be as neat as above. As long as it sticks together I'm generally quite happy

Some cracking welds there all the same, I'm learning tig at the minute and can appreciate how difficult it is to get to that standard, I've had only one or two welds out of a hundred that in some (distant) way resemble some of the pictures above. Believe it or not its the tig torch that gives it that nice butt weld, it takes such a steady hand tho. Have seen plenty of welding to that standard, some great welders in this country presumeably spawning from the shipyard days.

My Granda has been welding pretty much all his life from the age of 15 and is regarded as one of the best welders about by anyone who has seen his work. He constantly produces some fantastic welds like the ones above. Some of them really are a work of art.

I'm an ok welder but when he's watching me I tend to flop under pressure as I know I can't produce anything near the same levels of quality as him, but seeing the expressions he pulls at some of my welds can be quite comical. On the odd occasion when I do produce a semi-decent weld I tend to act like a bit of a child and set it places to try and draw his attention in search of a compliment but I haven't had any joy on that front yet, lol.

I had a go at welding many moons ago. It never looked anything even remotely like that, lol, more like a great big mess which came apart if you sneezed too hard :p

Always nice to see good workmanship.
