The recent cold weather has killed the battery in the A4. Called into a couple of local auto factors yesterday and they both said there was no need to code the new battery as the cars system will learn the new battery. Called into Halfords today the trade card the prices are competitive, they have said the battery definitely needs coded and not coding will cause the new battery will be damaged by the car over charging the battery. The battery that’s in the car at the minute looks very fresh which makes me wonder if it hasn’t been coded and this has caused it to fail prematurely. Now looking online there are a few post mentioning the over charging but on the other hand there posts saying coding isn’t necessary. So no definitive answer either way.
Another issue the battery that’s fitted doesn’t match the spec that the auto factors and Halfords have in there system. The current battery is 800cca and 96ah the battery the auto factors system shows 720cca and 76ah. Anyone any ideas?
