Cheers dude that's pretty much the case with the support of some great guys. Charlie @ OD Cars, and Gavin @ Gsport Cars helped me out with the bits that weren't doable in the garage!

I am yet to see your car in the flesh, but I fell in love with it from the pics at UCS.

I will endeavour to actually get a proper look round it at some stage. Reminds me of my old EK and how it should have turned out.

Thats where you are wrong.
Wrong? Really? Most times they are bought and fitted. Sometimes bought secondhand and refurbished and possibly repainted in a different colour.

The winners wheels started life at 16" - they've then been redished to step them up to 18", centres were painted and then a new set of half height centre caps were added with polished BBS cap centres.
... and the likelyhood is that if that particular set of wheels weren't present the award would have made it to someone whose wheels were, as mentioned above either bought and fitted, or bought secondhand and refurbished and possibly repainted in a different colour. It just seems very limited compared to 'best non-factory paint finish' or 'best interior re-trim' or 'tidiest custom engine bay' or 'best performance-focused modified car' or whatever.. Not to worry, though: different strokes and all that...

What are the wheels in question?

I think an award for nicest wheels is fair enough to be honest. Everyone loves a nice set of wheels, so why not give commendation to the best?
What's nice and what isn't is of course highly subjective as with everything else; most of us will look at a modified car and see at least something we'd like to be done differently but wheels - there's just not that much going on. Unless you get lucky, as in this case, with these stepped-up RS's.

You're welcome to have a look round at any stage buddy.

Nice Pics @ryanpatterson

So what power is this running? looks like one heck of a hot hatch.

Phil

Anywhere between 380 and 600 depending on gear. I originally built it for drag racing but then as the power went up and the money poured in, it actually became surprisingly usable.
