Passat key fob not locking doors

As above the key fob isn't locking the doors. It still unlocks the doors, opens the boot etc. Lock button feels ok aswell. Its a 2006 passat. Red light doesnt light when lock button is pressed but lights when the other buttons are pressed.

Had a caddy done this, disconnected the 12v battery comp;etely, then charged it for a few hours and all was good, the van did sit about for a while so whether it was a voltage issue I am not sure as i did not investigate it any further because the van was sold the following week.

So basicaaly just disconnect the battery and charge it? Did you have the same issues with the key as I did? Or did your key not work at all?

Same issue but it may just be the micro switch in the key fob had quit working in your case

More than likely you need a new key! Saw this quite a few times.
