I wouldn't class it as a hot hatch, a track focused car or a rally monster on the road, its not a supercar or a luxury performance car either....not sure where to put it, seems like they have tried to put everything in one piece of metal which is boring anyway, but especially because its a VW Golf.
I have a feeling its not going to be special enough to warrant its price tag & I hate how refined it looks.

Surely in the same class as the A45 AMG? The Golf R in standard guise is quick and very capable so I'm sure the 400 would be unbelievable. Would probably only be a limited run car like the Rallye or Edition One G60?

You could be right. But for me that A45 AMG is a total letdown.
