I know they are still taking the cars through. Was up today for a retest but was quite surprised to be able to take the bike through.

Whatever
im between one of these or a ramp.... do you need an adopter for bike specific?

You do, however one adaptor will do multiple bikes. E.g. I have a set for Honda as well and it’ll do a long of the Honda range of that era. Adaptors are pretty cheap as well maybe £10 or so.

I went for this for the added flexibility in being able to move the bike while lifted, washing it properly outside etc.

You know what I’m going to say with regards to washing it properly, don’t ya…? 😂

I had the bike in for a service there, and the mechanic pointed out that there was no brake light coming on when the front brake was pulled. I had noticed there was no brake light with the front brake but being my first bike, and the fact it was motd two days before I bought it, I just assumed that was how it was intended.
I had a bit of a look at the bike and there was no sign of a brake switch, nor any cabling. I undid a bit of tape that was over some plastic sleeving on the starter wire and found two wires cut off. I also found the mounting point for the switch under the brake lever.

I ordered a brake switch off ebay for £5 and tested it on the wiring on the bike - it worked 100%. I still couldnt figure out how it worked as there was nothing to hit the switch, then I spotted the brake lever had a wee piece broke off it flush so you wouldnt really notice it missing.

Looks like the brake level broke, resulting in the brake light switch turning on all the time, and rather than spending £18 to buy a new handle, one of the previous owners removed the brake light switch, cut the wires and taped them up (n)

I printed out a wee 3d contraption, drilled and tapped a hole on the brake lever, and screwed it together as a temp fix/test. All working 100% again, and probably a lot safer having an actual working brake light (rear brake does activate the light ok). Whilst I was on ordering the brake lever, I had a wee list made up of things when i got the bike that I wanted to change (headlight/speedo holder rusted, speedo housing cracked, and some new bolts and rubbers, etc), so placed a good enough order due to arrive next week.

Nice Fix. Don't want to be without a brake light. I even touch my brakes just enough to bring the light on when engine braking as you definitely don't want hit up the rear. And my bike engine brakes quite hard. Hard habit to get into but after riding with others it was pointed out to me.

Seen a wee gadget on FB that detects your change in speed using an accelerometer and turns on the brake light automatically when engine braking.
