Went to see the car in the flesh today since dropping it off in October. Very happy with progress, I would say about 1m² of material has been cut out of it 
Most patches were hand made by Ali, everything else like cills, arches etc was by Ex-Pressed.
Getting close to priming & painting underside, then rebuild running gear
And to think I thought I had straight car before the fire
To be fair it is straight with no previous accident damage. Was just a little more rusty than expected.

To be honest, that's not bad at all for a thirty year old Ford that's lived its life in this part of the world. Now she's good for another thirty.

I had a Sierra Cosworth in just last week for a detail before sale and it was in fantastic condition.............
It was very original as that's the way the long time owner wanted to keep it. The owner was telling me an RAC inspector was looking at the chassis before it went for sale and told him he was crazy selling it as it was immaculate and unrestored underneath and there are so few like it left.
My main task was just to clean the inside, the rest was ok.

The transit he built won Best Commercial in the Ford Show at Portrush last weekend

Funnily enough just finished all 9 of Harry Metcalfes you tube videos on the restoration of his Lancia Zagato sport (Harrys Garage). Probably more extreme than your case, massive amounts of filler to be removed, but the fabrication skills needed were amazing
