4 x MTM BBS Bimoto alloy wheels 20"9J ET42 ABSOLUTE BARGAIN! RRP£1800 | eBay
Screenshot_20231115_215327_eBay.jpg

What about these? I've been watching them for a while for my b7 passat, but I don't want to eat into my 80 budget on them lol

Obviously they need refurbed, cause black wheels are for peados, and there's some buckles, but they're a great rare oem+ rim 😊

Black wheels are for peados gave me a chuckle anyway :joy: I cant picture them on? Theyre similar to the final edition but i suppose a bit rarer! So hard to know. Cant get around the idea of cantonas atm

Bit of an update on the wheel front

Nearly had a set of cantonas bought but they were the wrong colour and i hmmed and haaed until i realised id need a 40mm spacer to get them out to fill the arch when aired out so that deal fell through

I had spotted very nice spec genuine CH-Rs local to me, with a notion of going for a different look altogether with the car so thought i'd chance them

20x10.5 et25 CH103 with 275/30 Hankook tyres, came off an RS4!

Very very nice wheel and very nicely finished, although i dont think the centrecaps are genuine. In very good condition bar one chip in the paint on a spoke and a few dinges in the stainless rim protectors on a couple of them. They have the BBS 66.5 spigot rings and valve covers too.

Tried them on last night and theyre not just pleasing me 8o| they could work with a smaller tyre i think but they dont suit the car. I know im a man and I hate admitting im wrong but i was wrong on this occasion :joy: I would love to keep them for my future RS6 but im years off that and ill need wheels for next year, so the search continues

To makes matters worse i kinked the front wing on the tyre  good job i had planned to spray them and the bonnet this year or that would have would me up

PS if anyone is after a set of perfectly specced wheels for a bigger Audi B8 and up let me know, probably would need to be an RS for the offset of these or at the very least a C8 A6 etc. Or would consider a swap for something more shiny. Thanks!

CH-Rs are just a fantastic wheel.

Funny, had the man maths calculator out seeing if those would work on my A4 Avant, but not a chance on this earth without the RS arches.

I think they still work on your car. They're not in the right style, but they look fantastic.

@Ian A I think with a 245 or 255 they could work but i just dont think they suit the rest of the car, maybe cause im so used to the dish now after so long

Pity tho cause they are a beautiful wheel. I might try one on my b8 avant daily for the craic some night, look like shes heading to the moss :joy:

They don't "not" suit it either to be fair.

If you had giant stoppers and 600bhp they'd fit in perfectly lol

I don’t think the Avus style suits the newer shape there.

The CH-R is indeed a classic, but sadly I think it’s reputation has been tarnished a bit with the Inspiri equivalent being everywhere.

I don’t envy your position- hard to get the right wheel!

What about a Bentley of some sort?

@Lyons that second set of bentleys are unreal, not normally a fan of them! Do you know what they come on etc?

Alternatively ive spotted a set of Ronal Carlssons i think would look pretty cool! Tiny bit vip, i could go for my diplomat flags then and make it real gangster :joy:

They would have done yeah, just bad timing. I'd fully intended to get round to lowering the S4, big wheels and brakes etc, but life plans getting in the way. Have to shift some funds for a house build.

Back end was tram-lining badly since the manual went in, especially noticeable going over road marking on the motorway. Usually not noticeable to any passengers but being the driver it felt like the back end was gonna fall out! Had a poke around and seen a torn diff bush and the state of the subframe so thought just do the whole thing in one. Very hand to drop out. Handbrake cables, abs sensors, shocks and the propshaft and its ready to drop with the bolts at each corner! The only part that fought me was the prop, sammy sledge was called to action  prob need a replacement joint after marking it trying to get it off now.

Crusty is a term that would come to mind. Will get it stripped, blasted and work out what bushes i need and then spray it black and any control arms silver and refit. Must make sure and mark all the camber bolts so i have a rough setting before getting properly aligned once back on the road. Epytec have decided to make a new set of adapters for me instead of modifying the ones i sent back after i sent them through the modified 3d model. Hope my measuring was accurate enough and they fit now 8o| they've entered production and wont be ready until February with the holidays etc. Just means im out the deposit amount i had to send them to make them for a bit longer.

Lil mini but fairly exciting update this time! Dropped the tank and it was stinking, plugged and powerwashed and its came up pretty good. Gonna take the fuel pump out and test it to decided whether or not its worth going for a new VDO pump at £150 when its still going. Nows the time if im gonna replace it. Straps were super foosty, especially the cross brace which ill have to replace

Most bits are ordered and got any stuff i needed blasted and primed. Mad how quick rust sets into bare blasted steel even in a fairly dry shed! Just need to paint them and they're ready for bushes. Some of them were definitely due replacement, even had to cut 2 of them out because aluminium 🤦‍♂️ Going with poly diff and subframe bushes and the ones ive got are 80 shore so hoping they dont rattle me to pieces 🤞

The exciting part of this update is wheels! Decided id chance the Carlssons i seen on eBay. Disaster of a seller says they get sent from Leeds and then is very hard to get a reply from. One single wheel landed yesterday (from Poland strangely enough, definately not Leeds) so got to try it on, hopefully the other ones actually arrive too :joy: very happy with them though i think they suit the car really well. Think i'll have to get the centres refinished cause theres a lot of marks round the holes but the lips are very good so I think ill split them myself and get the centres powder coated

Thoughts on the wheels? They're not LMs, nor anywhere near as expensive but i think the suit the cars style almost perfect. ET45 so will need fairly chunky spacers to bring them out to the lip but i think theyll look class rolling

Cheers lads! Kinda the vibe I always wanted to do with the car but just cannot face the luxury interior mod prices  aliexpress curtains maybe

@Boydie I would have no issue ordering from Poland but its the way he makes you believe they're sent from Leeds is worrying me. He even gave UPS a made up email address so that i wouldn't get the tracking emails, very strange
