Cheers @Neil Kirkpatrick
I think you are being kind. I really, really don't want to knock this programme but:
1. Poor quality footage. The in-car footage from Gallagher's Starlet was clearly higher resolution than the actual camera footage. The sound is w@nk. Can't hear the engines at all.
2. Footage is ok; too much zooming in and out in places, though, plus the editing is very odd.
3. The narrator, John Kenny, is still awful and his script is atrocious: "Here's an Escort driven by a farmer and now a break". Plus I think we had "Dean McGarrity" earlier
4. The don't let rally flow - it's just confusing, cutting back and forward and between classes. An newcomer has no chance.
5. The how to build a rally car footage is a good idea, but again it interrupts the feel of the programme. Is it a rally report or a documentary?
Should have elaborated, I couldn't watch the first episode it was so bad. This one is definitely better, would like to give them a chance til the end of the season to see how they come on / improve.
One of the family was filming wrc and f1 I know that whilst still doing a bit at home.
My understanding of the irish stuff is that they were undercut big time by hobbyist filmers and called it a day.
At least they value thier service is what say.
too many hobbyist twats under cutting and undervaluing professions these day
