It's nice to see Irish Rallying on tv but my god you forget how good RPM just was :worried:

Tyndall camera operaters required and some proper in car footage.

Average at best.

I think you are being kind. I really, really don't want to knock this programme but:

1. Poor quality footage. The in-car footage from Gallagher's Starlet was clearly higher resolution than the actual camera footage. The sound is w@nk. Can't hear the engines at all.
2. The angles/direction of the footage is ok; however, too much zooming in and out in places. Plus the editing is very odd.
3. The narrator, John Kenny, is still awful and his script is atrocious: "Here's an Escort driven by a farmer and now a break". Plus I think we had "Dean McGarrity" earlier :scream:
4. The don't let rally flow - it's just confusing, cutting back and forward and between classes. An newcomer has no chance.
5. The how to build a rally car footage is a good idea, but again it interrupts the feel of the programme. Is it a rally report or a documentary?

I think for an established rally fan it's not as good as RPM, but it's maybe a bit more friendly to newbies. A bit like the Top Gear vs Fifth Gear debate.

Should have elaborated, I couldn't watch the first episode it was so bad. This one is definitely better, would like to give them a chance til the end of the season to see how they come on / improve.

Yes it's better, but not by much

In a way I think they are trying too hard. Just show the cars, turn the bloody sound recording equipment up and get better cameras.

John Kenny is terrible.

@Artoir. Newcomers have no chance. They flick between International and modified classes all the time with no explanation. Then cut to a piece that isn't connected.

Don't like the last of the late brakers section with cheesy dance music. It's like something RPM would have done to fill time in 1993 and again interrupts flow.

I can't believe footage of Jennings' crash hasn't surfaced yet, there was definitely a cameraman at that junction.

That was not a good quality show, looked very amaturish. It just didn't flow at all. However, any rallying on TV is better than no rallying on TV so it gets the (y) from me

God awful show.

Just goes to show how good the production was on RPM.

Hope all those rally organisers that wanted to save a few Euro by not hiring Plum Tyndall are happy now.

Think the guys went full time freelance. Pretty sure one is heavily involved in MotoGP now and I think they also freelance for WRC and the likes.

One of the family was filming wrc and f1 I know that whilst still doing a bit at home.

My understanding of the irish stuff is that they were undercut big time by hobbyist filmers and called it a day.

At least they value thier service is what say.

too many hobbyist twats under cutting and undervaluing professions these day

Your profession seems to be the worst effected Graham.

Anyone can take a photograph, but it takes an artist to take a good one.

Kings hall wedding fair in Feb there was 18 of us.

Regarding the automoto end there is no money in it at all. I do commercial auto work which pays well but once I could rely on auto work soley but the last 2-3 years it died a death.

Now pushing the weddings and a huge amount of commercial / pr stuff keeping me busier than I have ever been thankfully.
