They still look so modern in my eyes, yet it’d be like your da bringing home a mk3 Ford Escort in 2004.

Yeh its far from modern inside anyway haha no screen or idrive, radio screen is failing too so might try a few tricks to get it back to life. Would like to get a screen for it, ebay suction cup type aftermarket unit. Friend on here has a much more modern 330d, going to be funny seeing the difference in them

Saw something on the net earlier this week which said 1936 is as far from 1980 as 1980 is from today. Simple maths but also a bit of a holy f**k moment for me too :joy:

Was saying to mates a while back that we were born closer to WW2 than today 🥲

Going to have my 2009 Citroen C5 2 litre HDI up for sale soon, bought it about 2.5 years ago as a stop gap motor and my dad ended up using it for about a year.

MOT until October, 98k miles (I think need to double check)

Got it off an old couple with more battle scars than a tank in Baghdad. It could have only 1 previous owner need to check logbook.

DPF/Anti Pollution light is on, it cut out on me a couple of times as if I conked out but started up no bother.

Passenger mirror doesn’t always fold out when it’s unlocked

Decent service history and old MOT certs. Also have receipt for timing belt at around 60k miles.

Do someone for a runabout, I need to scrub it this week and get photos.

Price: Bag of sand for anyone on RMS before I get hounded for swaps for dogs or PlayStations

Was chatting to a mate about this, remember the retro 60s TV show Heartbeat? If they started to make it now would bebset in 1994.

I remember hearing that same maths for the Back to the Future movie. If it was based on now, you would travel back to 1994.

Mum has a 1.8 petrol avensis saloon, think it’s year 2006 for sale if it’s any good to anyone.
109k miles.
Pretty sure it needs a passenger front wheel bearing.
No lights on dash, mot for 5-6 months.
Car is a bit muddy inside and out, some scratches on corners of bumpers etc but cheap runner for someone?

£750 for someone on here to not have to deal with gumtree etc
Located in Larne at the minute at my house otherwise will be near Antrim.

Chris.

I can help with that😁

If anyone else needs short/mid/long term storage for any planned/unplanned vehicle purchased and/or parts - let me know!
Can you help with replacing a brake master cylinder too? I can't seem to get at it for love nor money.

Once I do get it replaced I'll probably look at shifting it on to be honest. It'll be bangernomics territory

Hate to say it but if you think doing the MC is bad just wait until you start the bleeding process. Have you access to vcds/vagcom? You might need it.

I had an A3 that needed the Brake booster and MC done, I started stripping it down, couldn't get the thing out past the engine. Parked it up and never looked at it again, kept telling myself I'd get round to it, ended up shipping it out to a mechanic last week when I realised I couldn't be ****ed with the hassle.

Yup - there's so little space on these and more so when you through a turbo into the mix...they're a nightmare to work on

I was going to replace a caliper on my old Mk5 golf before punting it on. Now I'm wondering do I need this as well. 🙈

Shouldn’t do. Get a clamp on the flexi, swap it quickly and don’t let the thing run dry. I just renewed the fluid on mine with nothing more than a pressure bleeder.

@c_rad love that GS. Was tempted to PM you but the TT would need to go and I’ve had my fill of car sales for the next 4 years 😂

I've no qualms bleeding it when that stage finally comes. I just can't get access to the f*cking MC to get it off, and I've no garage, and it's rained every day since July and I've ran out of swear words for it.

It's 2003 - vagcom/vcds shouldn't even enter the conversation

I've a pressure bleeder and not a million miles from you, if needed.
Anyone for this? £1500 to an RMS'er

Just need it gone and FB has absolutely melted me with the advert being up 48 hours.
