Onboard with Sepp Wiegand on SS5

I have serious amounts of want to have a go in one of those. There seems to be a new breed of driver who has even bigger balls/even less brains than those in years gone by when you see just how hard those wee cars are going.

I haven;t seen any times, but they are visibly quicker than the WRC stuff which I am now bored of

ABSOLUTELY LOVING THE COI 2014!!! HOOKED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!

SO...

Does anyone have maps for the follwing stages..

SS16 Bulls Brook 2 - 1.59pm
SS17 Bronte Homeland 2 - 2.45pm

These are the only 2 I can attend tomorrow - any advice on where to park/vantage points would be very much appreciated folks.

Thanks for all the previous advice - great thread!

No denying they're extremely rapid, but surely the Polo WRC must be quicker? Though I'd take a drive in either

I don't know as I haven;t seen times, but on the road, they are certainly the best to watch IMO.

the WRC cars (talking scoobs, etc) are just the money mans way to being quick over here in my eyes.

The R2 guys are simply heroic

But the outright commitment of the Skodas blew me away in 2012 and yet again this year. So smooth, so clean and not a single bit feared of holding it wide open through stuff that everyone else is reassurance lifting for.

CBA even waiting for Escorts anymore either

Ah, I thought you meant current WRC. I'd agree with you there, the subs etc. lack the excitement of the other classes.

Gutted I haven't been able to see any of the S2000 Fabias on stage in person.

Don't get me wrong all the officials done a great job. It was the sheer volume of people hemmed into such a small area, they had a whole lot more available space they could have used to open the town up a bit more to allow more viewing areas to spread the spectators out. It is a curse of it's own success really which is good for the sport I suppose.

Just back in from Ards and I'm knackered! I honestly can't remember the last time doing radios took so much out of me! Serious amount of work from a lot of people on that stage. Some turnout of spectators to!

Pity it had to be pulled towards The end, but I think it was pretty successful for its first year of running.

The English commentator on the Eurosport coverage needs to learn how to pronounce places + names (n)

The wife and I are laughing away here at the commentator lol. Though the footage is showing how good this country is and the weather is fantastic looking, hopefully it keeps attracting big events like this over here.

Well I had a great time today, although being a novice I should have done some more research into the best places to get pics on the stages, as I couldn't get any decent pics at the stage or Ards, but the noise of some the cars were unreal, the 208 T16, Mini & Subaru WRC, RWD Starlet and the red Millington powered Escort really stood out! Anyway, some pics, will put up some more tomorrow.

What time does it go in to lisburn
No idea but I feel sorry for the team who have to remove all metal safety barriers and bales from ards overnight and take them straight to lisburn to be set up by stage start tomorrow

took a fit of the headstaggers and took off following a few of them between stages, without a clue where they were going lol. Ended up at the stage outside castlewellan in clonvaraghan area, but couldnt get anywhere near to get a good view :worried:

Must get to a stage or two tomorrow!
