Just remove it all and weld it up, then skim, then make a mould .
or
That allows for no f**k ups. I'd rather not to the risk of welding it. I'm sure I can work out another way. Highly likely to warp things if welding a large thin panel like a roof.

Driver side Mugen skirt complete

Add this up along side the rear quarter and the weave flows nicely

Adding in Infusion Video of the Side Skirt & Rear Quarter

So with Summer Time Clock Change next week means like most need to get the car out of the garage and finished so.....

Thursday comes and Back End is stripped, lights bumpers etc ready to finish rear quarters

Friday morning snow hits I thought I would double check MOT dates and randomly got a cancellation for Sunday

20230309_015756[1].jpg

Hmmm got me thinking...
So spent Saturday clearing garage, putting car inside and back end together and doing the usual MOT Checks/Changes

Swapping UK spec headlights for beam test
Adding rear fog from bumper

Found a Split lower fog wire and a brake bulb was the only thing to repair/replace
20230311_213227[1].jpg

Missed morning MOT due to road closure

Luckily got a cancellation that evening for a test
20230312_174904[1].jpg

Passed with NO advisories, good to know mechanically it's tip top magoo underneath

Not bad for a 1992 with 108k

Onto swapping the JDM front back on and finish body & paint

Then get the Carbon parts on

Carbon Front wings
Carbon Side skirts
Carbon Mirrors
Carbon Rear Quarters
Carbon Rear Garnish or Plate Fillers
Carbon EG9 Spoiler
Carbon Transtop Roof
Carbon Fuel Flap

In the works atm is a

*Carbon Spoon Style Splitter & *Double sided Carbon Bonnet

With MOT Passed it's revert back to JDM Front as headlight beam doesn't pass test.

Not overly fussed on the Aux lights being tinted with the chameleon tint, so will revert back to yellow to match lower fogs.

Threw on the OEM side skirts to see how the Carbon Mugen ones will mount, just need to trim the splash guard a smidge.

Spoon front splitter is in mould/plug stage.

Really torn on what to do with the rear quarters above the Carbon,

Leave Matte Black,

Blue the whole panel anyway and have exposed Carbon

The Rear Quarters themselves are sealed and blocked etc so are good to go.

I threw on some Captiva blue from a Can to blend and get an idea

P/S proto rear quarter complete, so test fit

Side Skirts will need to be redone from mould with the weave going the right orientation.

If the Bonnet is done in a V Weave to match the roof and rear garnish, sides can only go 1 way

Prototype collection is getting expensive.

Will clear coat the lot and see what parts I want to redo a fresh part.

Looks good against the Milano Red Sol

Debating if to skin an OEM door or continue to strip and make a mould of them for lightweight version, but this car will be on the road more than track and will have no cage.

OEM doors have the steel side impact bars, as good as a foam core and Carbon is I don't fancy risking it.

Will be repainting the spare doors Captiva Blue with the other bits I have and go from there

More materials to finish

210g 3k and 450g 12k Black stuff

20230503_111432[1].jpg

Will use the 450g instead of the 2mm Foam Core on the 2 front wings which will reduce weight significantly.

Looks great man. Still can't warm to the bonnet bra though although I think you told me there's a reason it's there. Gimme a shout when you're taking a spin out again, been ages!

Body lines man, Adjusting the bonnet and front wings and having them off multiple times etc was a melt.

I am convinced the crash bar/slam panel is a smidge out as the bonnet is tighter to release than the Red ones

I've just MOT'd the 106, we'll have to get out a spin again man. Mine had done 12 miles since the last MOT in 2018 lol
