Gutted I missed this, I was only back from Hols and suffering from lack of sleep meant I overslept and missed going.

A video from yesterday for anybody that's interested. We were really fortunate with the weather considering some of what I drove through on the way home :grinning:.
As usual a great day and well run by everyone at Trackskills.

With these trackdays, would it be ok to turn up in a normal road car, or car that's road legal but going to be tracked, couple or few spare wheels and get out and tear away? No cages or harnesses etc? Me and the friend are considering a wee 172 clio or similar to get out for the craic just

Boksic, that is the original and still valid reasoning behind track days. They are for the ordinary person to take their road car into an environment where they can safely explore its limits and their own limits, without killing somebody or getting busted. However, what does happen is that the limitations of a standard car quickly become very obvious to the owner. He or she realizes that the chassis actually flexes when under stress (easily improved by a cage), the brakes are often not up to sustained heavy use (easily upgraded), rolling around like a marble in the driving seat isn't conducive to great piloting (easily fixed with a bucket seat and harness), etc. and before you know it, they have a track car! You will always be very welcome in your standard 172. Spare brake pads are more important than spare wheels. Bring both.

It will be fine @Boksic for just having a go, to see how you get along, if you like it, etc. Every single person there started out like that. Just go easy, and keep an eye on brakes and tyres.

Like Donal says, if you do get into it, then there is more. But we will tell you about that once you are hooked - the first shot is free :p
