Eh? Its not like Meeke did it deliberately. I've no idea what happened yet, but I'm sure going last on the road, with nerves, adrenaline and a million different thoughts in your head, as you can almost touch your first rally win, can effect even the tightest concentration span.

If all it took to win world rallies was to tootle around at 25 mph and collect the champagne, we'd all be winners.

Gutted for Kris and Paul. Gutted. Any sort of result here could have sealed the deal on a new contract too.

& I would say if you gave him a week to discuss & plan the outcome, Kris would rather choose to go balls out & DNF than be out driven to lose the lead to a lesser team (ie. not VW or one of his team mates).
