You want cheap metal item, China man build you cheap metal item.

You want good quality metal item made exactly to your spec, China man can do this also... just need pay him more, but quality very good.

Been coming for a while and It's great to see, all we need now is an AE86 shell, or even more panels to be remade lol

Agree with some posts above, the 'real' ones are going to go for even crazier money... 'genuine uk spec' etc springs to mind...

Would it be possible to buy one of these shells, build it with modern running gear (say one of those 1.0L EcoBoost engines) and then register it as a new car? I know there are decent odds of it being condemned to a QNI plate but if you could spin about in an Escort on an XFZ plate or similar, that would be very cool. Perhaps in future there'll be even more heritage shells produced for other cars; mine's a brand new Ford Sierra if the Chinese producers are reading this thread.

With the advancements in 3D printing might it be possible to buy a shell, get the bumpers and fiddly trim bits you need made out, then fire an engine into it? Not now obviously, but maybe in 5-10 years?
