That has always been the case @Coog. Same with anyone bringing a foreign registered car into the UK.

A piece of paper in the windscreen is neither here nor there when crossing borders, not any other country's problem if a car is taxed or not wherever it is registered.

Other countries may care about insurance though, in some countries in Europe you have to be able to show an insurance certificate. Again just a piece of paper though...

I know they are not happy the other way around across the border though - driving a UK registered car in RoI if they consider you to live over there. Know a few people with holiday/inherited homes in Donegal with that problem. Car tax is a lot higher across the border... But that is a different topic :grinning:
