its time really Keith. to do a whole car would take a while and cost wise its not worth it really when its coming off again after the rally.
True, Cheap fun soon turns into £££ signs when you get carried away with unnecessary stuff.. Ild go cheapie rothmans style, and hopefully the sticker company does it cheap if they can plaster it in there own logos too..

Hard to beat a cheapie wagon for messing with. Much more fun than just another garage queen! And this is before the rally even takes place. Keep 'er lit lads (y)

for a weekend its just worth it mate. youre talking 2-3 days work to do it and remove it after. plus the monetary cost on top.

we are hoping for a profit out of this wee car by the end :grinning:

Keep it white, change the door graphics and add some window driver graphics and job jobbed in that case.

And a nice 3 digit plate to "finish it off" obviously.

Le Mans Rep?

Strangely, this is the Martini 924 special edition. No bonnet stripes.

You could get a wee plaque made for the rally too.

Pretty simple, wouldn't be too dear and would make it into a limited edition rep which would be good for resale.

Need a set of those wheel though (they seem dirt cheap too).

@pablo kindly dropped the car up to the North Coast last night after he spent some time fettling with it.

He changed the gearbox oil and greased the gear linkages so the gear change is now perfectly smooth, whereas before it was extrememly difficult to change gears. He got the speedo working after fitting a new cable, clock is also working again, as is the radio and passenger side electric window.

The car is now drives fantastically well, for its age and power it is actually very lively. I brought it to work this morning and even had the tail wagging exiting a side road!

It's running a little cold so it probably needs a new thermostat, so once that is replaced and a new air filter, that will be it completed with the exception of the Martini livery....or whatever livery we finally decide on!

I have to say I am loving it!

A lot can be said for lifting something old and unloved and getting it into good working order. Very satisfying and great fun. Tinkering about can burn up weeks at a time though. Was out at the workshop last night and spent 4 hours doing absolutely sweet FA

I'm still disappointed that you haven't bolted AK47's to the side of it, welded the diff, sprayed it satin orange, etc. That's what a cheap rally slut is all about IMO but would equally be a sin to do it to something so cool too!!

Is there a LSD in it??

lol ya big tramp - I had it sideways the other night in the wet was a bit of a handful to straighten up!

We should defo RR it.

@Coog - no LSD. Only the turbos came with them afaik. A 944 Turbo box should be an easy fit but not really worth the investment.

Ive really taken the notion of a nice 944 Turbo or S2 now.
