I dont think there will be any chance Danica will drive in F1, maybe testing and practice but not race.

She will only be good for the marketing, wheel to wheel in a F1 car she would be a disaster waiting to happen!!

I managed to catch all 3 races yesterday. Not very exciting races but good racing nonetheless, such is the nature of Oulton Park. 12 rounds in, the table is looking quite close at the top.

Just caught up in that Oulton Park race as well. Only bothered with the first two, lol. Honestly, if you can win a race with full ballast, simply because it is impossible to pass, then what is the point :grinning: Fair play to Jason though, he is the master of defensive/tactical racing, not easy by any means, would only have taken a single mistake and they would all have been piling past.

I love Oulton Park, right on the top of my list of tracks I want to drive on, have to get there for a track day. But far too narrow for BTCC. Much better for bike racing (y)

Yeah bit silly but if he got the fastest lap then there was a safety car or rain he would have been right back in it. Worth the gamble.

Aron Smith needs a good slap. Doing anything to make up a position ffs

Better racing this weekend. The Plato move in the first race was classic Plato, look at the long game over the full weekend and not just one race at a time. He is good at that. Meant no weights for the last two races, and starting at the front.

Still surprised the VW were suffering so badly, neither Plato nor Colin really competitive at all, despite no or very little ballast.

Ginetta Juniors was indeed awesome, lol :grinning: Is usually entertaining, but that was some cracker! Just a shame about that squeaky commentator, was he on helium gas or something?

loved the WSR 1,2,3. Definately a BMW circuit.

Still need to watch the races too :worried:

Rob Austin Audi driver Hunter Abbott to miss Knockhill BTCC round

Rob Austin Racing driver Hunter Abbott will miss the Knockhill round of the British Touring Car Championship next month.

Abbott, whose best result so far this season was 10th during the opening round at Brands Hatch, will be absent as his first child is due to be born.

"I'm absolutely gutted to miss Knockhill as the Audi performs so well there, but I would be exponentially more gutted to miss the birth of our first child," said Abbott.

"Sod's law of course says the baby will be early or late so I could have made Knockhill, but being at the opposite end of the country and getting back in time is just too risky."

Team boss Rob Austin is looking for a replacement driver to race alongside himself at the Scottish circuit.

"This is a one-off for a driver of the right calibre and with budget to cover the race weekend and some testing prior to the event," he said.

"We wanted to get this offer out there as soon as possible to give ourselves the best possible chance to find the right driver for the job."

Austin said that his previous form at Knockhill in the team's Audi A4 made the vacancy "a fantastic opportunity".

"It's qualified on the front row of the grid in both the last two years [including pole position in 2013] and also taken four podium results out of the last six races there."

Snetterton BTCC: Turkington leads all-VW top three in qualifying

Colin Turkington took a second pole position of the BTCC season in qualifying at Snetterton, leading Team BMR Volkswagen teammates Aron Smith and Jason Plato.
The newly-liveried BMR machines were the cars to beat from the outset, with Plato immediately besting the benchmark set by Andrew Jordan in practice with a time of 1m56.118s.

That was soon bettered fractionally by Aron Smith, who put in a lap 0.034s faster at the one-third mark of the session, leading Plato and Jordan during the mid-session lull.

But Smith was denied a second pole of the year by a late improvement by Turkington, who snatched the top spot by a margin of just 0.037s at the end of an ultra-close session with a 1m56.047s.

Smith and Plato, hobbled by 66 kilograms of success ballast, remained second and third, ahead of Jordan’s MG, Matt Neal in the best of the Hondas and Andy Priaulx’s WSR BMW.

Jack Goff made a late jump to seventh in the dying stages, but lost any chance to further improve with an off on his next flying lap.

The Triple Eight driver shares the fourth row with Tordoff’s BMW, while Tom Ingram (Speedworks Toyota) and Rob Collard (BMW) rounding off the top 10 qualifiers.

Points leader Gordon Shedden endured a session to forget, carrying maximum success ballast of 75kgs and suffering a power steering failure. He ended up qualifying down in 16th, two places behind Mat Jackson in the best of the returning Motorbase Fords.
