@saxo_man are you looking something classy or more hooligan related for a weekend blast?
I can just picture pulling up at say a wedding in a skyline and people not even noticing but if you pull up in a masser or an aston people be like your the daddy.(y)

Budget will really dictate a lot of choices that are offered. R34 GTR is a very safe place to put your money, but I think it will be virtually impossible for anyone not to modify one (they seem quite tame in 280bhp form) so you may end up throwing more money at it.

Supra is a fantastic car, I had a 6-speed twin turbo and loved it. They are starting to get a little dated now, though I'm not sure if age is an issue or if you're looking for something fresh.

C63 AMG is lots of fun, my folks have one and they sound amazing and go pretty well. However to me they're very much a straight line car as they can overwhelm the rear tyres so easily, and not something you're going to have a blast down a back road with.

I would have suggested a Z4M Coupe but you said probably not a BMW ......

Audi R8s are starting from 40k now too ;)

And as much as a R34 gtr is my favourite car a 911 is a lot closer to a dentists car too. But then again you do have a 2.0 corsa Haha.

I think one of these would get my vote

2005 TVR Sagaris 4.5. Reflex Charcoal. Huge Upgrades. 38,000 miles. 2 Year Engine Warranty *

Or something jap, but you'll not turn anywhere near as many heads. If I remember right @KillerJim owned one so he could give you real world info.

Highly recommend the Sagaris.. You won't get another car that will turn heads (in a good way!) like a TVR or in particular the Sagaris.

I sold mine (biggest car regret ever!) and will definitely have another one in the near(ish) future!

I can give you a spin in the TVR T350 when it comes out of winter hiding around April.. should you wish to hear a similar the sound and sensation

^^ Thon's a seriously ugly car!

The 2015 R8 interior is just stunning.

There's so much choice with that kinda budget! Are the F-Type's within budget? They're class. R34 GTR that's been tuned a little would be serious fun and a good place for your money.

What about an Ariel Atom? :p

I need to start savings again...

The sound imho is unlike most other cars; whilst a fair amount of high-end sports car sounds similar the Speed 6 engine gives a very unique sound - never mind the pop's and bang's on over-run..

Didn't realise an R34 would be in that price bracket. A clean, unabused GTR would be a good shout then.

What does a standard 1 sound like though?

You would not have a standard one. That would just be silly. But light tuning and footering to make it your own would be the best idea. Exhaust, filter, rims etc

I have a lovely Vantage for sale. Its an 08, 1 owner car with 18k on it. Full history. Selling it on behalf of a customer that's owned it from new.

Its a lovely example.of one in Black with tan interior. He has priced it well at £38k for a quick sale
Stunning car and bang on the money...
