Mk6gti over an abarth all day, cant see the appeal to those abarths atal, the mk6 gti looks great, love the interior!

Not really two cars you can compare ... I want something small light and fun for a while. In my eyes the £7k Abarth offers me all that at half the price.

yeah very different cars in fairness. you not fancy a 197 clio Chris? The 500s dont do much for me either I gotta say. Never driven one though.

I hated the Abarths, then just started looking at them randomly as a wee temp car for a bit of craic ... then I saw this and that was it

To be honest mate after driving @Cro 's clio id never have a stock 197. It would have to be his however im not spending that much on the next car as im still putting money away for something proper down the line. Just havent decided what yet.

you see the wee one runs about Mallusk? youd hear it before you see it, stickered up too. Looks like immense fun but not something Id like to drive in public lol.

Haha yes agreed ... sounds like a mini evo ... but couldnt drive that to a meeting etc

I just like the quirky styling of them, set of springs and spacers and they look great!

Wont be a keeper for me ... im looking another V8 just deciding which one or else another Evo.

I had a great day at Kirkistown in an Abarth Essesse! Seriously fun little car, every light on the dash flashes like a Christmas tree under heavy heavy braking!

So, have decided to hold onto this for a while. Actually really love it now Ive driven it a while longer and looks like job situation all sorted. Had plans of an E92 M3 but it would be a higher miler and I know it would do my head in. Also had notions of going cheap and getting a Clio 197 but would just bore me and not have the nice interior etc.

So sticking with the Golf, will freshen up a few bits and hopefully trouble free motoring for a while.

turns out it has a faulty knock sensor which (stupidly) limits power and does NOT put a light on. I thought it was just slow after the 911 but seems like its being throttled because of the bad sensor. @AIRFORCE1 is firing a new one in tomorrow so expecting to have full power back and it be like a different car!

then maybe get it mapped on top :grinning:

The hpfp on the mk6 isnt a limiting factor if you decide to go bigger power as well unlike the gti/ed30 (y)

Does the HPFP need upgraded in a Mk5 even with a stage 1 map, or only when you go above that?

Not sure if the fuel pump is the same on the GTI and Edition, but I'm at the fuel pumps limit atm and I'm sitting 330ish.

Also would highly rate a TT map, my car was nearly no slower than Mk7 R with a tuning box. @kyle.j1 can confirm ;)

After years of buying new on pcp deals I am considering buying one of these, any advice on what to look out for and are there any local dealers who would specialise in them? Probably looking to spend around £15k.
